Description:

A building of six rooms or more, this school is a single-story, rectangular (85′ x 53′) structure constructed of cut, coursed, and rusticated native stone of buff color. The roof is gabled. The entry is recessed behind an archway covered by an intersecting center gable. The windows are placed in groups of four; some have been filled with partial wood inserts. There is an addition on the west side of the structure. The roof contains a new catslide roof in the back. The alterations impeach the integrity of the building.
The construction of this school provided educational opportunities to those in a rural area and gave employment to destitute, unskilled laborers at a time when jobs were scarce. Architecturally, the school is unique in terms of type, style, materials, scale, and workmanship. Gregory School is still in use today, suggesting its long-range importance.

VERBAL BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION: Go north of Inola on county road 1 mile to highway no. 33, then go west 3.5 miles to the school site that is on a tract of land beginning at the NW corner of Tract 3 in Lake Way Acres; thence east 321.75 feet to the point of the beginning; thence north 157 feet; east 630 feet; south 157 feet; west 630 feet to the point of beginning, in Sec. 35, T 20 N, R 16 E.
