High School Stadium

Description

Completely walled stadium built of native stone quarry in near by Creta hills. Built in 1941 using $98,846 WPA funds and school bond monies, when the district was $80,000 short of finishing the project and Altus alumnus Wilber Hightower furnish the funds as a memorial to his father, C.C. Hightower thus the school board name the stadium Hightower Memorial Stadium.
