Description:

A building of eight to twelve rooms, this school is a rectangular (73′ x 181′) structure constructed of red brick in running bond. The roof is flat with parapets. The front entrance has a spectacular display of pilaster strips which give the building a definite art deco style. Many individual metal encased window panes have been painted, and concrete blocks have been added to the base of the building. These alterations impeach the architectural integrity of the building.
The school is unique within the Jennings community in terms of type, style, scale, and workmanship. Construction of the building provided security to many unskilled and unemployed workers, while the project also provided further educational opportunities to the students of Jennings and the surrounding area.
