Description:

The Rock Springs Gymnasium is rectangular (approximately 74′ x 57′) and constructed of wood frame with clapboard siding. The roof is gabled, and single entry doors are located on either end of the front. Windows are wood sash and are placed by twos. A lean-to animal shelter has been added to the east side of the gym. This and its state of general disrepair disqualify it for the national register.
This gym is significant primarily because it is one of two wood frame gyms constructed by the WPA that still stands. Also, it is a smaller structure than the one at Tecumseh, more suited for the demands of a very rural school. Within the community it is significant in terms of its type, scale and workmanship.

VERBAL BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION: The property begins 33 feet south of the NE corner of the NW 1/4 of Sec. 8, T 7 N, R 5 E, and goes 70 yards south, 70 yards west, 70 yards north, and 710 yards east.
