A substantial waterworks improvement project was undertaken in El Reno, Oklahoma during the Great Depression with the assistance of a federal Public Work Administration (PWA) grant. The PWA provided a $36,112 grant to the city for the project, whose eventual total cost was $80,642. Construction occurred during 1936.
