Description:

The rock gardens in Woodward Park were laid initially by WPA laborers, although there is some evidence that the work was begun somewhat ear lier by CW A workers. The gardens attract large crowds in the spring with the blooming of the azelias.
Woodward Park is one of Tulsa’s best known and best kept city parks. The rock gardens suggest the out-of-door interests of the WPA and the interest of that agency in perpetuating the concept of “city beautiful.”

VERBAL BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION: The gardens are located in the NE corner of the park along 21st Street
