Description:
A single-story building with high interior ceilings, the Lindsay Gym is rectangular (63′ x 91 ‘) and constructed with poured concrete, now painted brown. The roof is arched with parapets and the windows are metal casements. The main entry is slightly recessed and covered with a flat porch of poured concrete. Pilasters along the front facade and framing the doorway give the building a distinct art deco flavor. Unfortunately the structure has been remodeled and additions made to all sides but the front, leaving its architectural integrity rather impaired.
The real significance of this structure is its construction material of poured concrete and its art deco architectural style.
