Kiowa Indian Dancers
by Stephen Mopope, 1931
In the Director’s Room on the first floor of the library hang two murals that were painted by Stephen Mopope in 1931. These murals were originally in the Art Building on campus. Although these murals preceded the New Deal Arts Section by a couple of years they still represent the era’s inclusion of Art as a means to help in depression years. Of course, the murals are significant as examples of Mopope’s work.
