This city park was developed by the WPA. A small ditch was constructed and runs through the middle of the park. A small bridgeway, picnic tables, and playground equipment have been added to the park. The tennis courts are also located on the park grounds, and were also constructed by the WPA. The courts are made of concrete and are 95 feet wide. Fences have been placed around them. The park and tennis courts are significant because construction of them provided employment for destitute, unskilled workers at a time when jobs were scarce. After completion, these recreational facilities helped to increase morale within the city of Okemah.
