A single story structure with high ceilings, the Blanchard gym is rectangular (101′ X 91 ‘) and is constructed with red brick. The roof is arched with parapets. Substantial additions have been made to either end of the structure and window openings have been filled with inserts. These additions have greatly impaired the architectural integrity of the structure and make it unsuitable for nomination to the National Register of Historic placs.
SIGNIFICANCE: 1941; architect/builder: unknown
As a WPA gumnasium, the Blanchard facility is unique because of its red brick construction and its larger than usual dimensions.
