Description
Sultan park had many projects of mostly picnic tables, roads and a small water project.
The Walters Herald – Jan. 30, 1936
Concrete picnic tables, which are large enough to accommodate large parties, are being made at Sultan park under the direction of the WPA. These tables, designed by Edwin Carlile, project engineer, are 20 feet square, cross fashion, and will seat 48 people. Cement, brick, labor and sand for the tables were furnished by WPA and the city of Walters furnished the reinforcing. One table is already completed and one other will be finished next week. (There are two of these tables remaining in the park. Sultan Park is located one mile north of Walters, continuing straight north from Broadway and Missouri streets, Missouri being the east-west highway on the north side of town.)
