Following Oklahoma's survival during the Great Depression

Kellond School – Antlers (Vic)

Address: Vicinity of Antlers, OklahomaCounty: Pushmataha
Started: Completed: unknown
Agencies:WPANRHP:No

Current Usage:

Private Property

Description:

A four room school initially, the Kellond school was constructed of uncut, dark red native stone. The roof is gabled, and the structure is single storied. To the north end of the building has been added space equal in size to the original structure. This addition tends to compromise the original integrity of the building. Surrounding the school property is an excellently constructed rock fence. The school building is the only structure that remains to give the community any focus. The masonry is much better than average; and the fence is exceptional.
