Description:

The historic post office building in Coalgate, Oklahoma was constructed with federal Treasury Department funds. The building, which houses a New Deal mural title Women Making Pishafa, by Acee Blue Eagle in its lobby, was completed in 1941 and is still in use today. A one story commercial style building with basement. Façade is asymmetrical and fenestration around the northwest corner is unusual with tall windows separated by vertical bands of limestone. Entrance steps are mode of marble.
