Description:

A single-story, U-shaped structure, Central Elementary School is constructed of red brick now painted cream colored. Masonry is excellent, particularly the decorative lines in exterior walls and the rounded corners. The roof is flat; window openings, which reach to interior ceilings, have been reduced in size with wood inserts. Unfortunately the upper reaches of the exterior walls have been covered with wood siding, giving the structure a “modern” look but impairing its architectural integrity.
What makes this structure so unique is its masonry, especially the rounded corners and the stepped courses of the brick. The use of brick, too, is significant, in that WPA structures in Wagoner County all tend to be of the native stone variety.

VERBAL BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION: From the northeast corner of Block 289, Wagoner original, go west 175 feet, south 160 feet, west 175 feet and north 160 feet.
