Description

Built in 1939 by WPA funds for a consolidated school for the communities of Dryden, McKnight, Metcalf and Teacross. Built primarily of concrete with fourteen rooms and offices with a gymnasium/auditorium attached. With funds of around $54,618 allocated for the building and a hiring of 40 men to construct the structure. 

The first graduating class consisted of forty students who particapated in sports ranging from volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball. The building was also used for many community events including dinners, glee club and gaming parties. 

The school product graduating classes from 1940 to 1964 when after struggling for many years the community thought it best to consolidate with Hollis Public Schools and the building was then left abandoned and empty.
